Multitasking
This lever-style microswitch (obtained through a surplus parts shop) was bonded directly to the underside
of the turnout substrate with CA. It is positioned such that the points are held in one route. A spring wire connected
to a Tortoise simply presses on the lever to change the route. Thus, there are no direct linkages to design, fabricate
and adjust, no point alignment issues to worry about, and no excess forces applied to the turnout parts. The microswitch
is also used to change the polarity of the frog and associated rail sections.
