Wheels meet finished rails
The last step in the turnout construction was airbrushing the track with Roof Brown paint. Later, individual ties were randomly stained lighter or darker. Seen here are the first guinea pigs to test the rails: WR&N RS-1 #13 and Spano Bay Traction Company FM #104. Both the Kato and Minitrix engines were retrofitted with Northwest ShortLine replacement wheelsets.
