
View from the trestle on the White River and Northern
If one stood on the wooden trestle and looked toward the engine facility, this would be the scene.
In the foreground, below the enginehouse, is a good view of the farm, with the barn to the left and
farmhouse to the right. Also clearly visible from this angle is the ashpit hoist (in front and to the
right of the water tower), with a team of horses hauling away a load of ashes.

Judicious cropping in addition to conversion to black and white helped extract what little useful
information this image had, as one can perhaps gather from the unprocessed color Polaroid print at right.
It's amazing the amount of detail that can emerge at more than double the original print size.
