The passengers almost look as if they are rushing into the station to avoid an impending downpour. In reality, the clouds were a byproduct of eliminating a picture hanging on the wall behind the layout. This photograph was also in desperate need of cropping, because the stone wall in the foreground dominated the scene, and didn't look like a stone wall.

By the way, the sand enclosure at the far left was rescued and reused for the WR&N Version IV.

Original imageImage specs: As the raw black and white  Polaroid print reveals, placing the pinhole over the front of the lens produces vignetting. Careful cropping and a bit of digital blending makes the "hole" go away. I also electronically tinted these images with a sepia tone to give them the appearance of photos taken a hundred years ago. Lighting was provided by a 100-watt bulb in a floodlight reflector.
