Transfer to nowhere

It wasn't long before the WR&N got its first animated scene: the diesel engine transfer table. Number 13 takes the maiden ride, although it doesn't have much in the way of destination choices at this point. The transfer table itself is a Micro Engineering girder bridge fitted with freight car wheels that ride on rails at each end of the pit, and which also provide power to the bridge rails. A monofilament nylon thread runs along the outsides of the rails and connects to the ends of the bridge from underneath; the thread exits the pit through tiny holes and winds around a motorized drum. The pit drain, by the way, is a Micro Trains brakewheel.
