I'll take the high road... While WR&N #13 creaks along the abandoned CNJ main, Conrail #3387 and #3400, bearing bright new "Conrail Quality" schemes, rumble past a broken down automobile on the Lehigh line below. This early effort fared much better after numerous test exposures; the challenge was balancing the lighting across a fairly substantial swath of layout. Illumination consisted of three 500-watt daylight tungsten photofloods. Exposure was in the range of 30 seconds to a minute. The slide was digitized with a Konica/Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV. Brightness, contrast, gamma, hue and saturation were adjusted for best appearance on the internet; aside from this, the only digital manipulation performed was the removal of dust specks.
