Better Days for #60
The Black River and Western in New Jersey has a special place in my heart: my first ever train ride was behind #60 the year the BR&W began tourist operations. In and out of service over the decades that followed, her last runs were in the mid-90s, and I just happened to be around with a new camcorder at the time. Please enjoy #60 in her last (to date) glory days.
Part 1: Prepping for a Run
Newly overhauled #60 takes on water and is lubed up in preparation for a run from Ringoes to Flemington and back. Uploaded 12 April 2008; 4-1/2 minutes.
Part 2: Doing the Runaround
While #60 does the runaround in Ringoes yard to prepare for a run to Flemington, she is passed by CF7 #42 headed for Lambertville. Uploaded 14 April 2008; 10 minutes.

Part 4: Patriotic Special
A very special and patriotic train is caught on the night of 4 July 1996 with a load of drunken partiers. No doubt the longest—and happiest—passenger train the BR&W ever assembled. Uploaded 17 April 2008; 2 minutes.
